With the US market launch of MAILA (Modular All-Round Intelligent Line Array), Adam Hall North America is targeting professional rental and installation customers in the USA. At this year’s NAMM Show in Anaheim, California, LD Systems will be presenting the MAILA system for the first time on US soil. The Mettrin Event Center with its steel pillars rises from the shore of Hungary’s Lake Bánki as if it were alive. Since 2023, the impressive new building has offered ideal conditions for all kinds of events: from corporate functions and conferences to weddings, gala dinners, concerts, and more. In its very first year, the building featuring a mixture of wood, glass, and elegant exposed concrete was nominated for a national architecture award (architects: Ferdinand and Ferdinand). Hungarian integrator Off BEAT was responsible for the audio and lighting design at the Mettrin Event Center, using a combination of LD Systems and Cameo products for the various indoor and outdoor areas. ZONE X as an audio centre Off BEAT divided the Mettrin Event Center into several audio zones, controlled by a ZONE X 1212 D hybrid matrix DSP processor. While a large PA system was used for the main hall, the outdoor-capable installation speakers from the LS Systems DQOR series in the DQOR 8 and DQOR 5 versions were utilised by the integrator for the terrace and outdoor areas. Open – that’s how you might describe the Amza restaurant in Sibiu, Romania, in just one word. Over a hundred tables in a large, spacious dining area, an open kitchen, floor-to-ceiling windows, and lots of wood and plants. Amza’s operators have created a thoroughly modern restaurant concept. Their AV service provider, SET-UP, chose a combination of the LD Systems CURV 500 and DQOR speaker series to provide sound for the restaurant’s acoustically challenging environment. “The end customer wanted a sound system that sounded like hi-fi and also offered sufficient power in the bass range for occasional lounge events with a DJ in addition to normal restaurant operations,” explains SET-UP CEO Grunca Ovidiu. Beat the Cube – that was the goal of “THE CUBE”. For 14 years, from 2009 to 2021, the participants in the British TV show had to complete physical and mental tasks in order to leave the 4 × 4 × 4 metre cubes. The more cubes they beat, the higher the prize money. To this day, the fascination with the game concept remains unbroken. Since 2022, anyone can test whether they have what it takes to become THE CUBE Champion. Following the first live-experience venue in Manchester, a second THE CUBE opened in London in 2024. For the planning and installation of the multi-zone sound system, the global in-store music provider and AV integrator Imagesound relied on a large number of speakers from LD Systems. A total of 56 ICOA® 12 coaxial 12″ loudspeakers and 17 CURV® 500 I SUB 10″ installation subwoofers are spread over three floors at THE CUBE London. For the cubes on the playing areas, Imagesound used the SAT 242 G2 2 x 4″ installation loudspeakers to ensure that game announcements, sound effects and music are presented clearly and with lots of punch – both inside for the game participants and outside for the spectators.
