Thanks to Cheval Blanc Productions and the Grand Casino Knokke, the Belgian coastal town of Knokke-Heist is home to the nation’s largest casino, which is also one of the most traditional addresses for upscale entertainment, art, and events in Belgium. Situated directly on the North Sea promenade, the hotel combines stylish architecture, magnificent halls, and high-calibre events to create an exclusive overall experience. Nowhere is this more evident than in the Bonaparte Hall: a multifunctional event space with club character, a stage, and optional dinner seating – perfect for opulent stage shows, corporate events, and live concerts. The Belgian AV rental company Twin4u recently installed a flexible LD Systems MAILA sound system to take the sound quality of the sophisticated events in the Bonaparte Hall to an exceptional level. “We were looking for a compact, elegant PA system that was also suitable for immersive applications,” explains Twin4u Managing Directors Christof and Philippe Peirsman. “In many venues, it is difficult to fly larger line array systems – either because of the statics or the lines of sight to the stage or LED walls. With the opening of Motorworld Mallorca, the Balearic island is now home to an extraordinary place that combines automotive passion with lifestyle, gastronomy and event culture. On the 80,000 sq. m site of a former Coca-Cola factory located right by the MA-19 motorway between the airport and Palma, an interactive experience has been created, complete with freely accessible exhibition areas for classic cars, super sports cars and motorbikes, high-quality catering concepts, shops and versatile event spaces. The iLUX Veranstaltungstechnik team from Germany is responsible for the media technology equipment in the catering areas at the heart of the recently opened complex – namely the Motorworld restaurant and Motomio coffee bar – complete with a customised audio and sound system from LD Systems. 1.2 million pounds – that’s how much the operators of Kyma invested to transform the former pub in Waterloo into a modern wine bar and tapas restaurant. In February 2025, the new catering location on the outskirts of Liverpool opened its doors. Greater Than Security Ltd was responsible for the lighting and audio planning and installation, equipping Kyma with a complete package from LD Systems and various Cameo lighting solutions. Kyma can seat up to 60 guests, with an additional 30 seats on the outdoor terrace. In addition to the normal catering service with background music, Kyma also has a DJ booth for lounge and party use at the weekend. “The client wanted something simple to use and flexible enough to work with different room setups,” explains Wael Hassan from Greater Than Security. “QUESTRA is the ideal platform for us, as it enables intuitive and centralised control and can be operated by employees without any prior technical knowledge.” Wael Hassan, Greater Than Security The Greater Than Security team relies on LD Systems DQOR 8 and DQOR 5 2-way installation loudspeakers for the sound system in the indoor and outdoor catering areas.
